Recreational | Wide arch kited ep82 from New zealand 28th of June 2008

Few photos have been seen over time of this wide arch kitted ep82. The owner resides on starletcentral.co.nz .The car Was featured in fast fours in december in 2002 and was built by carbon composite guru who was then working for possum bourne motor sport.
The wide body kit took 3000 hours to perfect, or 125 days straight, and the moulds took 34 four liter tins of bog to design.

its worth noting all the arches are tube reinforced for strength and weigh less than the originals.
Oddly the cars heart is a 3e-te engine with an Evo 1 turbo. the owner is currently in the middle of completing a modified 5e-fhe conversion with the common tdo4 version of turbo. Fueling and ignition parameters will be sorted with a link ecu. it will be nice to see how this progresses in the future.

Recreational | Rear wheel drive Ep85 from Cyprus 18th of June 2008

Spotted this on youtube. Its an ep82 converted to rear wheel drive. quite an interesting watch and blatantly answers the question if its possible or not.

trade | tong turbo's dyno figure for hybrid 15th of June 2008

Tong turbo's has just released a dynograph for their hybrid. Michaels ep82 gt turbo made just under 214BHP @ the flywheel and 196lb/ft torque running 1BAR of boost. as far as im aware this is the highest recorded on the current crop of hybrids out there at this pressure.

the car was mapped by Paul Hills @ Engine Advantages in Witham and is a cracking result for Tong turbo's.
michael commented
"214BHP was at 1BAR, it did make 221BHP at 1.2BAR but my injectors need up rating so the tuner turned it back down to 1BAR.
I am very happy and very impressed, i would recommend these turbo's to anybody".

look out for dyno figures from toy tuning and speedvision in the near future.

Recreational | Nightspirits trackstars bodywork complete 7th of June 2008

Mark has come along way with this project and its almost complete for its maiden outing at the ring. He decided to do the whole bodywork matt black. He also managed to source the rear wing from the infamous bodywork spl lancer/starlet hybrid, that along with the H.R.F body parts, canards, roof scoop and hardcore hoopage ad up to an ep that's is in a class of its own and probably the most respected starlet build currently going on anywhere in the uk. As you can see from the pictures the car has come a long way and screams hardcore!

to follow all of Marks progress and also see how he gets on with his trip to the ring check out his blog here
